Manipur CM launches ‘Go to Hills 2.0’

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh accompanied by the council of ministers and other officials launched the ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ Tuibong under Churachandpur district in Manipur on Monday.

Earlier, Biren Singh visited Singhat sub-divisional headquarters in the district and inaugurated a 30-bedded Special Block of Community health centre (CHC) Singhat. He also handed over an ambulance to the CHC authority.

Later, he proceeded to Churachandpur district headquarters and inaugurated a Trauma Care Centre and a PSA Oxygen Plant of 500 LPM at District Hospital, Churachandpur. He also handed over an ambulance to the hospital authority. After which, he visited the Peace Ground at Tuibong where the official launching of ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ was held.

Speaking at the function, the chief minister mentioned that under the ‘Go to Hills’ initiative, the government has taken up various infrastructural projects for inclusive development. Hundreds of projects have been inaugurated and many are ongoing for the welfare of the people.

He said that the primary objective of the ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ is to deliver the welfare schemes under different departments such as PMAY,PMJAY, livelihood support scheme affected by Covid-19 etc. besides the state government health scheme such as CMHT to the beneficiaries.

He also stressed that altogether 32 projects worth INR 37.34 crore are being inaugurated and foundation stone laid for the project at Churachandpur district on Monday is estimated at INR 4.51 crore. Items worth INR 51.52 crore were distributed to 59,837 beneficiaries while 342 projects for Churachandpur and Pherzawl with a total cost of INR 1100 crore is underway, he said.

On the issue of Article 371C of Indian Constitution, he assured the people that the state government is committed to protect and uphold the spirit of the Constitution of India. He also exhorted the people of Manipur to unite and protect the integrity of the state.

‘Go to Hills 2.0’ is a second round state government initiative to reach out to its citizens at their doorsteps by explaining government programmes and ensure timely delivery of services to eligible beneficiaries, redressing their problems and providing on-the-spot solutions.
