Manipur CM inspects vaccination camps in Imphal

Imphal, July 9 (EMN): Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, inspected the two-day mass vaccination camp organised for women vendors of Ima Keithels (Mothers’ market) and women temporary market at market number 3 of Khwairamband Keithel in the heart of Imphal town on Friday.
He was accompanied by advisor to CM (Health) Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, principal secretary (Health), V Vumlunmang, DC Imphal West Th Kirankumar, Director (Urban Development) Th Harikumar, chief medical officer of the district led Health department officials and others. The vaccination drive was organised by district administration, Imphal West and the chief medical officer, Imphal West.
Briefing the media, the chief minister announced that the government would take up stringent preventive measures to contain the spread of the Covid-19 disease in the state. He stated that no family members/attendants would be allowed to support or assist the patients or provide them meals at Covid Care Centres (CCCs) and hospitals as the government would provide them.
Maintaining that the government decided to take up rigorous Covid-19 testing in the state considering the current situation of Covid-19, Biren Singh further said that if one person of a family was infected then all the family members would be tested. He also said that those measures have been decided after thorough discussion with experts and health officials.
Regarding the imposition of curfew, he said that curfew hours might be extended with certain relaxations during daytime and night curfews will be clamped with strict vigilance. Seeking support and cooperation of the public in the fight against Covid-19, he appealed to the people to be vaccinated for their safety.
Meanwhile, the chief minister also inspected the mass vaccination drive at Ibemcha High School, Khabam and Mongjam community hall in Imphal East district.
