Manipur CM flags off Advancing Northeast Career on Wheels

Imphal, May 20 (EMN): Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh flagged off three vehicles of “Advancing North East Career on Wheels” from the main gate of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Friday.

The advancing Northeast is a website providing a one-stop solution for career and livelihood to the youth of North-east.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chief minister said that the website was launched by the President of India recently from Assam. He said the vehicles and the official teams will drive to all districts of the state and visit educational institutions to meet with the students.

Stating that this will help in developing Manipur, the chief minister said that the portal will provide informed counselling on any issue to the interested students on any issue including higher education, start-up projects, entrepreneurship, training, etc.

Advancing North East is a portal developed by NEDFi, which is funded by the North Eastern Council, ministry of DoNER, according to Prithviraj Neog, assistant manager, NEDFi. It is a “one-stop solution” web portal for career and livelihood, which is available at www.advancingnortheast.in.

As part of the portal’s outreach campaign, “Advancing North East- Career on Wheels” kicked-off which will cover all the districts of NER states in the coming months to create awareness amongst the students and youths of Northeast on the use of the portal for making an informed decision about their career and livelihood, he said.

The flag-off ceremony was also attended by officials of NEDFi and Advancing Northeast.
