Imphal, April 27 (EMN):
Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, today held a video conference with the deputy commissioners (DC) of different districts on Covid-19 situation. The day’s meeting came amid recent spike in Coronavirus cases in the state.

During the video conference, Singh mainly enquired the DCs about the number of active cases, home isolation patients, vaccination, preparations going on for re-activation of Covid Care Centres etc., sources from the chief minister’s secretariat stated. He also instructed them to be prepared for the possible situation coming in the next two months.

Singh also directed them to submit detailed reports on their activities, preparations and inadequacies to the principal secretary of Health with a copy to the chief minister’s office. Singh also directed the DCs to properly check whether the home isolation patients are kept isolated from other family members.

He also instructed to bring the home isolation patients to Covid Care Centres if the officials visiting them are not convinced that the family required amenities like separate toilets and rooms for home isolation.

He also directed them to expedite formation of Covid awareness-cum-enforcement committees of different assembly constituencies and do the needful to re-activate the Covid Care Centres at the earliest.

Stressing on the need to cross-check Covid negative reports for those entering the state from different entry points, he has instructed the DCs to intensify vaccination, raise more awareness and penalise SoP violators stringently.

It may be mentioned that the chief minister along with state officials inspected the oxygen manufacturing plants at RIMS and JNIMS hospitals in Imphal on April 26.
