Manipur: Children aged 12-14 still not vaccinated in three districts

Imphal, March 23 (EMN): No children aged 12-14 years were vaccinated against Covid-19 in  Jiribam, Kamjong and Tamenglong districts so far even though the nationwide vaccination drive started from March 16.

A total of 2400 children aged 12-14 years were vaccinated with Corbevax vaccines in Manipur till date.

An official of the Health department, who is engaged in the vaccination programme said that the state’s vaccination target for children aged 12-14 years is 1,20,000.

Meanwhile, the state on Wednesday reported six new Covid-19 positive cases, when 841 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The state’s total infection tally increased to 1,37,057. The total number of active cases stands at 78 with no Covid-19 death reported in the last 24 hours, official sources said.

On the other hand, with seven new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered Covid-19 cases in Manipur reached 1,34,859 taking the state’s recovery rate to 98.40 %.

As per latest official reports, the state has so far given 27,70,337 doses of Covid vaccines including 15,29,672  first and 11,76,002 second doses  besides 64,663 precautionary doses to the residents.
