IMPHAL — The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) on Monday announced the results of High School Leaving Certificate examination 2024 results, recording 93.03% pass percentage, which is the highest in the last 10 years, barring 2021 wherein students were promoted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total pass percentage of male students is 93.07% while that of female students is 93.00%; Tengnoupal registered the highest pass percentage among the 16 districts of the state with 99.65%, while Jiribam is at the bottom with 50.71%.
For the first time in the last decade, the pass percentage of government schools reached 84.34%, while the pass percentage of aided schools is 92.74%, compared to 95.93% recorded by private schools.
According to the BOSEM, this year’s examination results were of cumulative grading point average system. There was no ranking or division system like the previous years. The adoption of the new system is in line with National Education Policy 2020, aiming at enhancing the overall performance of students without giving undue pressure and stress to the candidates.
Several officials, including Commissioner and Director of Education were present during the announcement of the results at the conference hall of BOSEM in Imphal.
It may be mentioned that a total of 37,715 students, including 19,087 boys and 18,628 girls wrote the Class 10 exam conducted by the Manipur Board from March 15 to April 8 at 154 examination centres, including 63 in the hills and 91 in the valley.
Out of the total students who wrote Class 10 exams this year, 9,119 were from government schools, 1315 from aided schools and 27,281 private schools.
