Manipur: A collection of poems ‘Punshi Mahing’ released

Imphal, Dec. 16 (EMN): Punshi Mahing, a collection of poems written by Laishram Bihari Singh of Yurembam Awang Leikai, was formally released at Rose garden at Yuremban in the outskirts of Imphal on Friday.
Health and information Minister Dr. S Ranjan Singh, Padmashree L Nabakishore, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Maya Nepram of Pravabati College were present during the book release function.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said, “We need to follow the wisdom and ideas of our forefathers. Their ideologies and philosophies also need to be protected.”
The minister asserted that books of any kind are a part of the media.
‘It plays a significant role for social reformation. Books are the records of our future. The role of the writers during any social condition is really commendable. We should encourage the writers,’ he added.
The day’s book release function was organised by the Local Organisation of Voluntary Entrepreneurs.
