Manik Bhattacharjee Foundation fetes HSLC, HSSLC toppers

The annual felicitation awards-giving ceremony organized by the members of Manik Bhattacharjee Foundation was conducted on Saturday at Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School with retired bureaucrat HK Khulu as the chief guest. Principal of Prabananda Women’s College, Uma Bhowmick, was the special guest of the event.
The Manik Bhattacharjee Foundation on this day felicitated HSLC and HSSLC toppers under Nagaland Board of School Education while commemorating the birth anniversary of the late Manik Bhattacharjee, social worker and educationist of Dimapur.
Recalling the endeavors of late Manik Bhattacharjee, Khulu said the contributions and services rendered by him for the people of Dimapur had been tremendous in so many ways and that his memory and good works lives among the people. The retired official encouraged the students to follow in the footsteps of Bhattacharjee.
Congratulating the awardees for their achievement, Khulu also advised the students to work hard and bring a good name to the society. He urged the students to strive for excellence in all walks of life and ‘not give space to failures and mediocrity in studies.’
Saying that the best thing in life is in becoming a better human being, the chief guest said ‘honesty’ should lead them in their day-to-day living.
Nazneen Akhtar Tapadar from Holy Cross School was the recipient of this years’ HSLC 2015. Tapadar secured the first rank.
Aanchal Verma (Science), P. Suraja (Commerce) and Nuksungmenla Jamir (Arts) were the recipients of this years’ HSSLC toppers award.
This year the HSLC topper was awarded with a cash price of Rs. 5000 and a certificate while the HSSLC toppers were awarded with Rs. 1000 each and a certificate. Parimal Bhattacharjee, who is a retired teacher of Dimapur Railway High School, was also felicitated during the event.
