Mangmetong Yimlang Senso Mungdang organises social gathering

MOKOKCHUNG — Mangmetong Yimlang Senso Mungdang (MYSM) on Tuesday held a social gathering at Nokjok valley with the advisor of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Pangjung Jamir, as the special guest.

Speaking at the event, MYSM president, Longrimendang, highlighted the various achievements undertaken by the mungdang for the welfare of the people. He informed that MYSM undertook the task to construct a dam on Tzubi River and divert the river course by earth cutting channel between hills in February 2020 for agriculture purpose.

Longrimendang appealed to the advisor to assist MYSM in initiating fishery projects in the area which would generate livelihood avenues for the unemployed youth and also the farmers of Mangmetong village.

Speaking at the event, he lauded the MYSM members for setting an example to the Naga people. He also acknowledged the MLA Imkong L Imchen for playing a pivotal role in the project to benefit the villagers.

The advisor further assured to take up the proposal initiated by MYSM and appealed the members to cooperate with the government.

Meanwhile, advisor of Information and Public Relations, Imkong L Imchen, appealed to his colleague to look into the proposal on priority, which would help the farmers to get easy access to water for agriculture activities and other water related activities.
