Mangmetong union Kohima celebrates golden jubilee

Kohima October 28 (EMN): The Mangmetong Senso Telongjem Kohima (MSTK) celebrated its fifty years of existence at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, on the theme “Beyond the new horizon.”
Speaking on the theme, Rev. Dr. Imchayanger said jubilee was the time to seek and give forgiveness. He also said it was also time to retrospect and correct one’s shortcomings and seek for God’s blessings. He also added that the age of competition and comparison amongst students and co-workers is a thing of the past but to become the best in one’s God given talents is the main priority in the present fast paced world.

Encouraging the parents to be spiritually sound, he said education and food can be gained and provided by society but it was the duty of parents to impart spiritual education to their children at home.

The reverend also ask the gathering to stay humble and acknowledge God in every task they embark and receive numerous blessings than they expect as the calling and gift from God was irrevocable.

Earlier, the program commenced with benediction from I Kikum Longchar and N Tali Imchen, president MSTK, gave the welcome speech. Short speeches were also delivered by Imkong L Imchen, MLA, M Nangshi Jamir, founding president MSTK, Chiten Yaden, president, Kohima Aor Telongjem, Village council Mangmetong and Yanger Ao.

A special song was also presented by Imnalemla Jamir and Dr. Imtiwapang Pongen delivered the vote of thanks.
