Dimapur, June 3: In a shocking incident, a man set his wife on fire and fled after committing the crime on June 2.
The victim, aged 24 and a member of Nagaland Domestic Workers Union (NDWU), was set on fire by her husband, identified simply as Dyanshwar at their home in Firing Range, Dimapur.
A member from the union told Eastern Mirror that the husband poured kerosene over her and set her on fire and ran away.
The member informed that neighbours rushed the victim to District Hospital Dimapur after hearing her screams. She was said to be unconscious, and sustained severe upper body burns.
The NDWU with the help of Sakhi One Stop Centre has filed an FIR against the husband.
