DIMAPUR — At around 11:45 am on Wednesday, the Dimapur Police received information from police control about an unconscious person lying on the flyover footpath in Dimapur.
According to a press release from the police, the East Police Station duty party rushed to the scene and discovered an unconscious male aged 55-60 years. He was immediately taken to the District Hospital Dimapur for a medical examination.
However, at around 7 am on Thursday, it was learned from the hospital that the person died at around 5:50 am while undergoing medical treatment. The duty party thereafter reached the hospital and found the person dead in the male ward.
According to the nurses and witnesses, the person died from pneumonia and severe malnutrition.
Following the necessary and proper inquest of the deceased and upon receipt of the discharge slip and death certificate from the hospital, the dead body was transferred to the hospital morgue for further action and identification.
The deceased was wearing blue-patterned white half-pants and a grey t-shirt.
