A 31-year-old man was found dead at a stone quarry in Wokha district, suspected from electrocution, while a separate Sumo accident injured three passengers.

WOKHA — A 31-year-old man, identified as Nzanthung Enny from Humtso village under Wokha district, was found dead at a stone quarry in the Longsa area on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Wokha, T Relo Aye, said burn marks were visible on the victim’s face, body and leg. Preliminary inquiry indicated that he may have come into contact with a live electric wire.
Police were informed of the incident at around 11:15 am after which a team was dispatched to the site. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
According to the SP, the family declined a post-mortem examination. The body was later handed over to them for the last rites.
Three injured in accident
In a separate incident, a Tuensang-bound Sumo carrying 10 passengers met with an accident on Saturday before reaching Hammock Resort near Wokha village.
No casualties were reported, though three passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated at Dr. Mhondamo Memorial Hospital.
The driver cited brake failure as the cause. The vehicle remains at the site and is expected to be recovered on Monday.
