Malaria awareness drive held in 4 Noklak villages
Officials and health workers during the malaria elimination awareness campaigns conducted in villages under Noklak district.


DIMAPUR — The District Health Authority, Noklak, organised malaria elimination awareness campaigns in four villages - Old Pangsha, New Pangsha, Wonthoi, and Dan - on August 4 in respective council halls.


According to a DIPR report, Chief Medical Officer of Noklak, Dr. Victor Lam spoke about malaria disease, its signs and symptoms, treatment and malaria elimination.


District Epidemiologist, Dr. Kumkiuba spoke about the control measures, prevention and roles of community participation in malaria elimination.


DPM, Noklak C Hosea N Lam also spoke about the activities of NVBDCP in the district. The team led by Khrolo (DM), Lam (SW) and Pukha (MTS) also conducted screening of all the participants in the four villages.

In the previous month, the Noklak district detected 3 positive cases of Malaria from the Pangsha Area. The Endomological studies on collecting the samples found the presence of vectors for Malaria, Dengue and JE, the release added. 


Last month, Noklak district reported three malaria-positive cases from the Pangsha area. Entomological studies conducted to collect samples revealed the presence of vectors for malaria, dengue, and Japanese Encephalitis (JE), the report stated.
