Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Following the recent success of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections, major changes in the organisational set-up of the party are expected as part of strengthening it.
This apparently was the central issue of the recent visit of Ananta Mishra, secretary for organisation, to the party’s Delhi headquarter during April 22-26.
During the visit, he met with the party’s president Amit Shah, National General Secretary (org.) Ramlal, and minister of state for Home Kiren Rijiju, also the in-charge for Nagaland.
A press release from the party’s media cell stated that Ananta Mishra submitted reports about the party’s activities during the recently concluded elections in Nagaland.
The organisation’s central leaders reportedly were ‘satisfied’ with state unit’s performance.
As directed by the party’s high command, the state’s unit has decided to organise a training camp for legislators, and unit workers soon.
Mishra also met with former prime minister and the first BJP national president Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former national BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi.
Recalling the past, Murli Manohar Joshi reportedly said that in the old days in 1985, the entry of the BJP in the state faced stiff opposition.
He added that he managed to plant a ‘few activities with handful of workers and stayed four days in Kohima.’
“Today, the victory of BJP in the state speaks volume that the people of this region needs development through a national party like BJP,” the statement said, quoting Joshi.
While congratulating and appreciating the people of Nagaland in general and the party’s workers and members for bringing victory to the party, Joshi recalled the ‘immense contribution of PB Acharya, then in charge of the BJP for Northeast. Present governor of Nagaland.
