MOKOKCHUNG — Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung Atsungba Walling inaugurated the Lunsep Paver Block & Tiles Factory at Tzusapang Sector, Mokokchung village, on June 13.
The factory is the first of its kind in Mokokchung and is operated by Mongtemscu Imchen and Imlijong Imchen.
The owners stated that consumers in Nagaland have historically relied on construction materials transported from other states, which increased transportation costs and caused supply delays. To address this, they established the factory to utilise locally available raw materials and reduce import dependency.
Speaking at the inaugural event, Walling stated that successful commercial manufacturing units require strategic location, efficient transport, reliable raw materials, and strong market networking. He noted that the site selected has good accessibility and local resources.

Walling urged the younger generation to pursue self-reliance through entrepreneurship. He advised the owners to maintain patience and focus on consistent product quality.
Walling also called on the local community to support the venture to facilitate its growth.
Chairman of the Mokokchung Village Council Mapuyanger Longkumer commended the initiative to convert local raw materials into finished products rather than relying on imports.
The owners stated that they plan to expand their product range to include other concrete products to meet regional infrastructure requirements.
