DIMAPUR — Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS), Dimapur organised a felicitation programme on May 1 for the successful students of the school who cleared the HSLC and HSSLC Examination 2024.
The felicitation programme, held in the school hall, chaired by Temsulemla, English faculty, LSHSS, commenced with an invocation prayer pronounced by Imnajungla, supervisor of higher secondary (Arts stream), followed by the school anthem sung by the higher secondary students, the school stated in an update.
The Class 10 students welcomed the gathering with a welcome song, which was followed by speeches from the HSSLC and HSLC rank holders.
Speeches on behalf of HSSLC Science and Arts streams rank holders and achievers were delivered by Kethozeno Khate (Rank 5 of Arts stream) and Temjenlemla Longkumer (Rank 7 of Science stream).
Eliyani R Ovung (Rank 8) and Imkongsenla Longkumer (Rank 17) spoke on behalf of the HSLC rank holders.
The students, in their speeches, thanked their parents and also expressed their gratitude to the school authorities and the teachers for the dedication shown in educating them.
Class 10 and 12 girls performed a choreography after which the principal gave a summary of the school results.
The rank holders of both HSSLC and HSLC were felicitated with certificates and cash prizes by the school. A total of 42 students scoring 80% and above in HSLC including 18 students (Arts stream), 12 students (Science stream) were awarded with certificates of excellence. The teachers were also felicitated with Vihutuo Excellence in Teaching Award and cash incentives given to encourage and appreciate the teachers for their hard work.
The programme concluded with closing remarks and benediction by the chairman of LSHSS, Nini Sekhose. The chairman, in her remarks, emphasised on ‘time’ as the most important asset of an institution, and advised teachers and students to use time wisely.
Sekhose appreciated the students, teachers and parents and said that the happy occasion was made possible due to collective “hard work and wise decisions.”
She further reminisced on the founder of the school, late P Paira, “whose vision has led to the success of the school,” the update stated.
