LPG drivers assault case: Kohima police nabs three persons

Dimapur, July 24 (EMN): A team of Kohima police led by SDPO (North) arrested three persons involved in the assault of LPG drivers on July 23 from Paramedical, Kohima.

According to a police report issued by PRO, DEF Kohima, the three accused have been identified as Medophretuo Medeo (29) from Khulazu Bawe village in Phek district, Pipenthung Humtsoe (29) from Pongitong village in Wokha district, and Seyievilhou Phesao (26) from Chozuba village in Phek district. All the three accused persons are currently residing at Paramedical colony, Kohima, the report stated.

The report also stated that the trio had admitted to committing the crime of assaulting the drivers of the LPG truck below Belho Gas Service godown on NH-29 on the night of July 4 and 9. It added that all the accused have been forwarded to court and remanded to 48 hours police custody for further interrogation.

It may be mentioned that two drivers of the LPG truck, which was parked below Belho Gas Service godown at Kohima, were assaulted by unknown miscreants on the night of July 4. Consequently on July 9, their mobile phones were snatched away by the miscreants.
