Loyem Memorial Trophy: Nyenshen FC to defend championship title

Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): Defending champions Nyenshen FC were through to the final of the ongoing Loyem Memorial Trophy after defeating Hügel Hifliers FC 6-0 in their semi-final clash at Loyem Memorial Ground, Tuensang on October 23.

Playing in their first-ever semi-final match in the Loyem Memorial Trophy, the most promising team of 2018, Hügel Hifliers FC, were handed a humble defeat by the defending champions, informed an update from the organisers.

The score line read 6-0 goal difference but young players of Hügel Hifliers reportedly gave their opponents a hard time in the first half before the experienced team emerged stronger at the end of the day.

Mongko opened the account for Nyenshen FC just a minute into the game before Torito and Pete scored in the 34th and 40th minutes respectively. Imlong Chaba scored two goals in the 66th and 85th minutes and Alaomei added the final goal in the 87th minute.

Nyenshen FC will now play the winner of the second semi-final match between DEF, Tuensang and Khulio King.
