Loyem Memorial Trophy: Hügel Hifliers FC through to semi-final
Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Tuensang, Hügel Hifliers FC defeated United Saksi FC 3-1 in the last league match of the ongoing 27th Loyem Memorial Trophy played at Loyem Memorial Ground, Tuensang, on October 22 to secure their first-ever semi-final appearance in the tournament.
United Saksi FC needed a win to enter semi-final while Hügel Hifliers FC needed a draw to progress into the next round of the competition, informed an update from the organisers of the tournament.
Bamo Lemba opened the account for Hügel Hifliers in the 15th minute before adding one more in the 28th minute. However, a sudden counter-attack from United Saksi left the defence of Hügel Hifliers open, thus letting Tsali score in the 29th minute to reduce the score line to 2-1.
The Hügel Hifliers picked up from where they left and found another goal through a superb free kick by Hopong in the 45th minute. It sealed the fate of its opponents in the tournament.
Hügel Hifliers will now face the defending champions Nyenshen FC in the semi-final.
Nyenshen FC, Khulio King FC, Hügel Hifliers FC and DEF, Tuensang have booked their places in the semi-final.
