KOHIMA, JUNE 18: A much-needed Panchayat Hall of Lower Jail Colony (LJC) Kohima was inaugurated today.
Addressing the colony residents, Additional Director of Treasuries & Accounts Chayazo Kehie who is also the chairman of the colony, expressed hope that the Panchayat Hall would serve for the welfare of the colony.
Dwelling on the non-selection of Kohima city for Smart City project, he said, the project required standard.
“We have to work harder to make our proposal successful,” he said while maintaining that the people of the state capital have to change their mindset towards achieving better sanitation and improved civic sense.
Treasurer of LJC Panchayat Pudoho Luho presented the building report.Chaired by LJC Joint Secretary Lima Longchar, the inaugural programme commenced with Associate Pastor NCRC PR Hill, Kohima, Medochol Sothu pronouncing blessing.
LJC General Secretary Adi Sothu delivered the welcome address while Vice Chairman Zapokul Visa tendered the vote of thanks. Special numbers were presented by Women Prayer Fellowship and Youth of the colony.
