Wokha, July 18 (EMN): On successful completion of one year term, the team of Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH) for the tenure 2019-2022 organised a programme on July 18.
The programme was attended by officials from Lotha Hoho, Lotha Eloe Hoho, Lotha Students’ Union and Team Metamorphosis (NGOs).
Delivering the presidential address, president of the youth hoho Yanbothung Ezung emphasised on three cardinal points which included sense of responsibility, economical sustainability and social well-being for the betterment and progress of the Lotha community. Ezung made a fervent appeal to all the Lotha community to come forward and collectively work for the uplift of the society with the same focus and vision.
He affirmed that the youth hoho would continue striving to serve the community towards social and economic uplift of the Lothas.
Also speaking on the occasion, chairman of Lotha Hoho Mhondamo Ovung urged to inculcate the virtues of honesty and hard work of their ancestors for all-round progress in the society. He also insisted on maintaining their identity by preserving the cultural attires and mother tongue. In this regard, he urged all the Lothas to make use of their mother tongue in all the media platforms.
To be self-reliant, he cited Japan, with a size of Rajasthan and a population of Maharashtra states in India, but one of the most developed countries in the world because of their hard working culture. In this context, Ovung urged the youth to revive the work culture and dignity of labour.
He also encouraged the youth to be dedicated in all their undertakings saying, no job is big or small if they want to prosper in life.
Ovung further told the gathering to educate the community to manage any resources judiciously.
