Dimapur, March 21 (EMN):  The Lotha Hoho (LH) has extended its full co-operation to the healthcare departments, district administration and other concerned departments in the effort to prevent and contain the novel coronavirus (Covid -19) and has urged the citizens of Wokha district to actively take up all the preventive measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

The hoho has appealed to every individual and the Lotha organisations, in particular, to co-operate and support initiatives taken up by the state government and concerned departments for prevention and containment of the coronavirus disease, a press statement informed on Saturday.

The Lotha Hoho has also urged the government of India and the state government to ensure that healthcare equipment are procured on time and distributed to the health workers and to the public wherever necessary.

“The Nagaland districts of Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng and Mon are branded as red-light districts and most susceptible since these districts are border-districts through which outsiders will enter, who may carry the Covid-19 into the state,” the statement read.

If these districts are infected, the whole state is at stake, it stated while expressing its distress over one thermal scanner given to the Wokha district so far. “The district has many border-entry points where health workers need to check those crossing into the district from outside,” it read.

‘The Lotha organisations, on behalf of the Lotha public, appeals to all the people of Nagaland to comply with the government advisory and guidelines for prevention and containment of the Covid-19,’ it added.
