Lotha Hoho condemns attack on pastor, threatens cooperation withdrawal
DIMAPUR — The Lotha Hoho (LH) has condemned the brutal attack on a pastor in Naukhuti town on August 24 by one Akhekivi, a cadre of NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango) and stated that if such incidents occur against any Lotha individual in the future, the Lotha tribe will immediately cease cooperation with all such organisations.
In a condemnation note, the hoho stated that the inhumane and barbaric act, a heinous crime committed against an innocent individual without any valid reason, will not be tolerated. It demanded that law enforcement agencies impose a fitting punishment on the perpetrator.
“The hoho vehemently condemns the life attempt exhibited by the accused by loading the pistol and attempted but misfired and for which the hoho urged to book the perpetrator under NSA,” it read.
It further stated that in the current Nagaland scenario, the universally accepted maxim “the pen is mightier than the sword” has been perversely twisted into “the sword is mightier than the pen,” and this reflects a sad reality in Naga society.
The LH also appealed to all factions of the NNPGs to refrain from such uncivilised and inhumane acts towards the peace-loving citizens of Nagaland and to respect the human rights of every individual.
