Lotha Football Championship: Vungoju FC, NRSA enter semi-final

Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): Playing the first quarter-final match, favourite Vungoju Football Club (VFC) thrashed Longsa Sports Association 7-2 to enter the semi-finals of the ongoing 10th Lotha Football Championship at Wokha local ground on Feb. 4. This was stated in an update by the general secretary of Wokha District Football Association (WDFA).

Hatsabemo scored four goals for VFC making him the top contender for the highest scorer of the tournament while Nyithung, Yiben, and Ratobe scored a goal each. Vungthungo and Heichihang scored a goal each for Longsa Sports Association. Lansothung of VFC was cautioned for unsporting behaviour in the 87th minute of the game.

In the second quarter-final match, NRSA overwhelmed Vankhosung FC 6-2. George netted an early goal for NRSA in the 11th minute of the match who later added another goal in the 64th minute. Sachumo, Lelen and Winam also contributed a goal each. Two goals for Vankhosung FC came from the boots of Ekon.
