Dimapur, September 10 (EMN): A new church building of the Kohima Lotha Baptist Church has been dedicated, on September 10, in Kohima town. The church is located at Chandmari colony.
Secretary for Mission and Evangelism of the Lotha Baptist Churches Association, Rev. Dr. LL Kikon unveiled the monolith of the new church building and opened the house of God to the congregation, updates from the DPRO of Dimapur stated on Sunday.
Pastor of Lotha Baptist Church of Dimapur, Rev. Zanao Mozhui, who was the main speaker during the devotional service, quoted from the book of 1 Corinthians. He told the gathering that ‘Christ is the foundation of the church’ and exhorted them to pray for the church to receive blessings. He quoted Mathew 16 in which is written “On this rock I will built my church.”
Pastor of KLBC, Rev. Mhathung Lotha thanked the believers for their constant financial and prayer support during the construction period, which took six years. He praised and thanked God. He said six labourers involved in the church construction converted to Christianity during the period.
The convener of the Church Construction Committee CN Ovung and the convener of the Finance Committee Nchumbemo Shitiri gave a report about the building construction. The new four-storied church has a seating capacity of around 3000 with a two-floor basement as parking space.
The church was built at a cost of 11, 63, 65, 000. The conveners thanked engineer Hutoshe Awomi and architect Watinungsang for the ‘free services’ rendered to the church.
