Dimapur, Sep. 18 (EMN):
The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (Atma) for Longleng organised a training programme for livestock farmers on the subject of balanced feeding of swine, on September 16 at the KVK training hall in Longleng.

The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates on Wednesday offering details about the programme.

The training was organised with the objective to improve the productivity of swine with proper nutrition and diet and increase profitability through the enterprise, the IPR reported.

The updates stated that piggery farmers from various blocks participated in the training programme.

Resource person for the event, Dr. Lily of the KVK at Longleng told the gathering that scientific and balanced feeding should be practiced right from the time of the animal’s weaning, for profitable production of pig.

The resource person said that the maximum growth of pigs can be observed up to six months of age. ‘So it is very crucial to feed the pig according to the nutritional requirement of the body,’ the IPR stated.

Feeding schedules were distributed during the event, it was informed. Altogether 17 piggery farmers attended the programme, the IPR added.
