Longleng readies for National Immunisation Day for Pulse Polio
DIMAPUR — In preparation for the National Immunisation Day for Pulse Polio on March 3, the Longleng District Task Force for Immunisation held a meeting to discuss how the district will carry out the campaign.
According to an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO) Longleng, deputy commissioner (DC) Dharam Raj presided over the meeting held at the Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) hall on Wednesday.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Tiasunep, CMO Longleng, requested that everyone present create awareness among the general public about the polio campaign.
Dr. Imnameren Phom, district programme officer (Reproductive and Child Health/Universal Immunisation Programme), highlighted the activities and challenges to achieving quality immunisation coverage in the district and called upon all NGOs and stakeholders for support in achieving the target.
Raj, who chaired the meeting, urged all members to mobilise and raise awareness about the importance of immunisation. He also urged each village council chairman and ward president to inform and mobilise their respective villages and colonies to ensure that all children aged 0 to 5 receive the vaccine during the campaign.
