Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Longleng district M Shayung Phom inaugurated a new operation theatre and labour room on November 23 at the Longleng district hospital.
The establishment of the Longleng chief medical officer issued a press release giving updates about the programme.
During a short programme that was conducted to mark the inauguration of the new facilities, Phom congratulated the officials and staff of the district hospital for their work and effort. He urged the public to follow the norms and guidelines of the hospital, while also requesting the hospital management to circulate the guidelines for public awareness.
Phom appealed also to the public to extend their helping hand and support to the hospital authority, the press release stated. He urged the people to work together for the benefit of the entire community and to move forward for the betterment of the district. The deputy commissioner assured full co-operation from his administration.
Medical Superintendent Dr Lhouvizotuo Belho expressed gratitude to his predecessors for ‘doing half of the work which made it easier for him to finish the work,’ the IPR explained. He conveyed his appreciation to all the members and staff of the establishment for their cooperation and support. He appealed to all the nongovernmental organisations to continue to extend their help to the health department, besides urging them to work hard and to do better.
Community leaders also spoke at the event.
The fully equipped operation theatre and labour room is capable of performing any major or minor operation. It has a three bedded gynaecological room and a four-bed post-operation room, besides bathroom, toilet and running water facilities.
