Longleng edge past Tseminyu at inter-district one-day cricket tourney

Wokha Crushes Zunheboto at Boys U-16

DIMAPUR — In the ongoing Senior Men’s Inter-District One-Day Tournament, hosted by the Nagaland Cricket Association, Saturday witnessed a closely contested match between Tseminyu and Longleng at Nagaland Cricket Stadium.

Meanwhile, in the Boys’ Under-16 Inter-District Multi-Day Tournament, Wokha displayed dominance over Zunheboto.

According to an update, in the Senior Men’s Inter-District One-Day Tournament, Tseminyu batted first, scoring 115/10 in 32.1 overs, with Ntsenlo Semp top-scoring with 42 runs off 34 balls and Nuntlo contributing 16 runs off 23 balls.

Arjun Kumar Yadav claimed an impressive 6 wickets for 9 runs, supported by Mungkhum with 2 wickets for 41 runs.

Rajesh Das’s 35 runs off 26 balls and Arjun Kumar Yadav’s 20 runs off 22 balls helped Longleng chase down the target, reaching 116/9 in 22.2 overs. Nuntilo Mach and Ntsenlo took 4 wickets each for Tseminyu.

Longleng secured victory by 1 wicket, with Arjun Kumar Yadav awarded Player of the Match for his all-round performance, scoring 20 runs off 22 balls and taking 6 wickets.

The qualifying round for the tournament has concluded with this, with Mon from Group A and Longleng from Group B securing their spots in the final round.

In the Boys’ Under-16 Inter-District Multi-Day Tournament, hosted at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung, Wokha displayed total control over Zunheboto.

Batting first, Wokha set a total of 196 runs for 9 wickets in their first innings, while Zunheboto struggled to respond, managing only 77 runs for 10 wickets.

In the second inning, Wokha continued their strong performance, scoring 220 runs for 6 wickets and declaring the inning, setting a target of 339 runs. Zunheboto, in their second inning, could only manage to score 30 runs for 10 wickets.

Wokha emerged victorious by a massive margin of 309 runs.
