Longleng district organises special vaccination drive
Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): Health department, in collaboration with the district task force, Longleng, conducted a special vaccination drive for shopkeepers and helpers, drivers, coolies and their family members at Longleng public ground on June 24.
Speaking at the programme, the deputy commissioner and DTF chairmen of Longleng, M Shayung Phom, thanked the medical department for organising such a programme in the district. He also requested the medical department to compile necessary information regarding Covid-19 awareness or vaccination in bulletin or voice message and spread through social media for the public under Longleng district.
The superintendent of police, Longleng, Yanithung urged the public to set aside all myths and fear regarding the Covid-19 vaccine stating that vaccination could only stop the spread of the virus. He urged every citizen to encourage one another especially the shopkeepers and drivers to get vaccinated and make the land a safe place.
The chief medical officer (CMO), Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla stated that the special programme was organised to encourage the people who are not vaccinated especially for shopkeepers and helpers, drivers, coolies and their family members. She urged anyone who is not vaccinated to avail the opportunity at the earliest.
Report stated that a total of 327 persons were vaccinated during the special programme.
