Longleng district carries out random Covid test

Dimapur, May 4 (EMN): In view of the rising covid-19 positive case in the district, Longleng district has decided to carry out random screening test by the Medical department among high risk group including shopkeepers, drivers/ operators of bus/ taxis, road construction workers, hotel/ restaurant employees.

The decision to this effect was taken during an emergency meeting of the Longleng district task force members and stakeholders on May 4 under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner and DTF chairman, Longleng, M Shayung Phom, a DIPR report stated.

It was decided that food expenditure for medical and police/ village guards (VG) personnel assigned to CCC and Covid-19 Hospital duties would be borne by the DTF on the basis of INR 300 per person.

To continue enforcing Covid-19 appropriate behaviours in Longleng town, it has asked the DBs and VGs to assist and coordinate with police personnel for duty for which the respective rosters would be prepared by the concerned department.

The house has also activated village guards to check and monitor the movement of unknown persons in all the villages and to immediately report the same to the authorities.

It has also restricted any public events, gathering, festivities in the district, while for the purpose of conducting wedding ceremonies all the concerned are asked to get prior approval from the DTF 15 days ahead of the event.

The house decided that entry/ check gates located at Shetab and Yonglok under Tamlu circle would be looked after by the concerned respective administrative and police officers.

The house also decided to permit religious places/ place of worship outside the containment zone subject to a maximum limit of 30% of the total capacity of the hall/ building or 100 persons, whichever is lower, with strict adherence to all the provisions of SOPs for preventing the spread of Covid-19.

Members have also decided to shift the daily local market to Longleng town public ground with immediate effect till further notice, while a fine of INR 200 would be imposed on any person not correctly wearing masks in the public places, workplaces and during transport.

Further, all the colony and ward presidents/ chairmen are asked to keep vigil and promptly report to the authorities in the event of any Covid-19 related incidents.
