John Tsulise Sangtam along with Sangtam Union of Longleng during on the occasion of Mongmong festival.[/caption]
Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): The Sangtam Union of Longleng district celebrated its 2nd Mongmong festival with gaiety at the deputy commissioner’s (DC) residence in Longleng on Sept 4, with Fr. Charles from St. Joseph Secondary School, Longleng as the special invitee.
The event was hosted by DC Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam. The DC welcomed the dignitaries, in-laws and special invitees. He spoke on the importance of the festival in bringing the people together.
Men folk of Sangtam community presented “Longmi Khi” a traditional folk song. Ethnic fusion song was presented by the In-laws. DIC General Manager Longleng Akhaba Sangtam highlighted the significance of Mongmong.
The programme was attended by Phom Peoples’ Council, Phomla Hoichem, head of departments, Phom Students’ Conference, Dobashis, chairman and head GB of neighbouring villages, pastors from different churches, executive secretary of the Phom Baptist Christian Association, public leaders and other well-wisher.
