Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): Expounding on the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation, Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha MP Tokheho Yepthomi has encouraged proper implementation of central government schemes and warned against mismanagement of public fund.

Yepthomi stated this while addressing a meeting of head of departments (HOD) implementing the centrally-sponsored schemes in the district held in the residence of the deputy commissioner, Zunheboto, on October 12, a DIPR report stated.

He informed that the purpose of his visit was to oversee all the completed and ongoing developmental activities as well as management of government schemes, which are directly benefitting the public in the district.

He also lauded the efforts put by all the frontline workers headed by the deputy commissioner, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo in tackling the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, HoDs from departments such as DRDA, Women and Child Development, Food and Civil Supplies and PWD presented a detailed report on the ongoing activities and implementation of central schemes managed through their respective departments.

Later speaking to media persons, Yepthomi termed his visit to the district as fruitful as he could observe proper utilisation of the schemes. He, however, expressed dissatisfaction as some of the departments could not attend the meeting.

“I expect every department concerned to respond positively in the next meeting scheduled in the month of December 2020,” he added.
