Lok Sabha 2024: Series of meetings held at Kangpokpi
IMPHAL — A series of meetings were held at Kangpokpi district headquarters on Monday in connection with the upcoming General Elections to the Lok Sabha 2024.
The District Election Officer (DEO)/Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mahesh Chaudhari had a meeting with the representatives of recognised national and state political parties of the district at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex and discussed matters including the model code of conduct (MCC), media certification and monitoring committee (MCMC), election expenditure monitoring, rate charts of items for use during the upcoming election and special polling stations, among others.
The DEO/ DC also met with the officials of banks to discuss various issues including the Election Seizure Management System (ESMS), which is a dedicated technology platform designed and developed to digitize data for intercepted/seized items (cash/liquor/drugs/ precious metal/freebies/other items) direct from the field through mobile app during model code of conduct.
Another meeting was held at the same venue with the members of the Election Expenditure Monitoring (EEM) team — flying squad, static surveillance, accounting, video surveillance and video viewing – in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
It was also informed that the Additional District Magistrate held a meeting with the displaced employees, who are at present attached to the office of the deputy commissioner, Kangpokpi, in the Conference Hall of the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Office, Kangpokpi.
