Dimapur, April 5 (EMN):
National Youth President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Pranab Kumar on Tuesday stated that the party is targeting the upcoming assembly election in Nagaland and it will begin working in every district of Nagaland ‘starting today’.

This was announced during a press conference by Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National Youth President, Pranab Kumar at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur.

He said their main priority is to focus on the upcoming election in 2023, and if the party becomes a part of the next ruling government, the removal of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in Nagaland would be its first priority.

Kumar went on to say that the party’s national president and member of parliament (Lok Sabha), Chirag Paswan, had said he would raise the issue of AFSPA in the parliament. He also claimed that Paswan would be the next ‘chief minister of Bihar in 2025’.

When asked about the number of seats the party would contest in the upcoming Nagaland assembly election, Kumar said they had not decided yet, but that they were currently focusing on preparing the party’s strength.

However, he added that the party would first look into local issues and ‘determine the constituencies they have chance of winning’ before contesting. He added that the party will be in alliance with other political parties ‘that work for the welfare of the people’.

It was also informed that S Richard Humtsoe was elected as the party’s Nagaland state unit president and Ikhino K Yeptho as state youth president.
