Kohima, Apr 21 (EMN): With the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19, people are staying at home and spending their time doing different activities to keep themselves occupied.
“Being a Christian and a believer of Jesus Christ, I am on my knees in prayers. Meditating on the words of God, spending quality time with my beloved spouse and encouraging others to stay positive through social media are the activities that is keeping me occupied during this lockdown,” said Thomas Kikon, youth pastor of FFBC New Market, Kohima,
He has attributed to God’s grace in not facing any big problems or difficulties though closer of grocery stores and shops have slightly affected their normal routine. Trusting in God’s word “To not fear” in Isaiah 41:10 and “My God will provide” in Philippians 4:19, I am overcoming it daily, he said.
President of Nagaland University Students’ Union, Kohima Campus, Rhilo Mero, who is still in NU hostel, shared that “usually we have lots of assignments and that is our first priority, besides that we play indoor games and also go for long walks.” He informed that there are still 22 boys in men’s hostel and 15 girls in women’s hostel.
He further shared that for minor health issues they go to their own university health centre and also have routine check-up from the health centre.
“For depression, anxiety or other mental issues, we have our own group and we usually contact the administration but so far nothing as such,” he commented.
One entrepreneur, Ng Moses, shared that as his business is in standstill due to the lockdown, he stays in his compound doing little bit of kitchen gardening.
“The main thing for me is business and due to the lockdown I cannot sell my products,” he said.
He mentioned that though his factory business has stopped due to lockdown, the activity of running wholesale toned-milk is still continuing saying, “My boys are still distributing toned -milk, which comes from Bihar through truck, to the whole sellers as that is allowed by the administration.”
