Local scribe honoured for highlighting gender-related issues

Dimapur, Sep. 14 (EMN): Special reporter of The Morung Express, Aheli Moitra has been honoured at the 9th edition of the Laadli Award was held at United Services Institute of India, New Delhi on September 14 for her efforts in gender related issues in the society.

“The Morung Express immensely delighted to announce that our own Aheli Moitra is one of the proud recipients of Population First- Laadli Media and Advertising Awards 2017 (Regional Awards) for Best Feature-Print Category,” a press release the news daily informed.

It informed that Moitra was honoured for her feature story, “How a Village in Phek District Revived Millets and Became Gender Wise”.

Saying that she was chosen by the jury “for Highlighting the Role of Women in Transforming Agrarian Economies’, the release stated that Moitra was one among the 82 meida professionals honored for their outstanding effots in highlighting gener conserns from across the country 13 languages.
