Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): Local Entrepreneurs’ Association Tuensang (LEAT) held its triennial general session on November 12 at Tuensang town hall with Lohuo Besii, chief manager of State Bank of India, Tuensang, and Tzükti Longkumer, managing director of Longpok Holdings, Mokokchung as the resource persons on the theme “Building lives, rebuilding society.”

Speaking at the meeting, Besii urged the members to have passion for business and take calculated risks to be successful. He advised them to be in sync with their business and activity.

He mentioned that many entrepreneurs have chosen the path as last option after many fail attempts at exams. He encouraged the members to look at business as their mission and vocation in order to be successful.

Longkumer stated that it is his 26th year in the business and little more than 15 years as a resource person to encourage Naga entrepreneurs. He pointed out that there has been little success despite many such events been organised by Nagas.

He narrated his entrepreneurial journey to the gathering and also did an entrepreneurial test for everyone.

In his welcome address, P Chingmak Chang, president of LEAT, mentioned that LEAT is also one of the stakeholders under Tuensang Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) along with Hindu and Muslim business communities.

On the occasion, Rev. Achu Chang, executive secretary of Chang Baptist Lashong Thangyen (CBLT), launched the LEAT entrepreneurship development fund. It is a new initiative under LEAT with a seed capital of INR 1,00,000.

The aim of LEAT entrepreneurship development fund was to assist new startup through capital investment among its members. Under the initiative, LEAT would assist new entrepreneurs with a small interest-free loan for about six months. It planned to assist at least four to six entrepreneurs in a year.
