Local board meet held at Sainik School

Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): The XVIII Local Board Administration (LBA) meeting was held at Sainik School Punglwa on Nov. 13 under the chairmanship of Major General Atanu K Pattanaik SM, chief of staff, HQ 3 Corps and chairman LBA.
In the meeting, principal Sainik School and member secretary of LBA, Sanjay Gaekwad presented activities undertaken by the school during the last six months. The major issues included, work projects under development at the school, steps taken to improve the academics and overdevelopment of the cadets, and future projects to be undertaken with the help of Govt. of Nagaland and Ministry of Defence. The board deliberated on issues pertaining to the infrastructure projects, development of the school and the various steps taken to improve the NDA intake of the cadets. Members were also apprised on the financial grant and infrastructural development that are being taken up.
During the discussions, the chairman stressed upon the role of teachers in providing quality education to cadets towards the betterment of school results especially in higher classes. He also advised them to correlate theory with real life situations for better comprehension and get cadets thinking involved while teaching, so that cadets can relate the subject for better assimilation.
The meeting was also attended by SO 1 (Edn) 3 Corps Lt. Col. Abhishek Bhardwaj, Administrative Officer Sqn. Ldr Lt. Col. M Kiran Meitei, Vice Principal Sanjeev Chaudhary, Additional Director School Education & Nodal Officer Pollem Tep, and Kedovisie B Meyase as parents representative.
After the meeting, Pattanaik congratulated the two cadets of the school who qualified UPSC (NDA) written exam and who will be appearing for SSB interview in the coming month.
The meeting was followed with the chairman inaugurating the WAR Trophy, a T-55 Battle tank (OBE). The war trophy was allotted to the school by HQ 3 Corps as a goodwill gesture. The school expressed its gratitude to the COS, HQ 3 Corps and chairman LBA for taking personal interest in getting the battle tank reach at its present location from Pune and placed as souvenir at the school. This war trophy will surely act as a motivational catalyst for the cadets of Sainik School and the local populace visiting school to take up Indian Armed Forces as a career, the press release infromed.
The chairman also interacted with class XII cadets and gave motivated them. He advised them to study hard so as to qualify the UPSC NDA entrance exam and SSB, as Indian armed forces still remains a charismatic career option.
