LMRPO holds felicitation ceremony for meritorious students
WOKHA — Lotha Middle Range Public Organisation (LMRPO) held a felicitation programme for its unit’s meritorious students on Tuesday at Baghty Town Hall in Wokha.
During the programme, Mhachoni Yanthan, who secured the first rank in the HSLC examination, Eliyani R Ovung, who achieved the eighth rank, Levis Lijano Patton, who scored the highest mark in the state in English in the HSLC exam, Zuyani R Humtsoe, who obtained the highest mark in Lotha in the HSLC exam, and Christine Murry, who earned a gold medal in MA English from ICFAI University, Nagaland, were presented with certificates and cash awards.
The awards were handed over by the Chief Medical Officer of Wokha, Dr. Zuben Kikon, who attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest remarked that the awardees brought immense pride to both the region and the Lotha community with their remarkable achievements. He urged them to maintain the same level of determination and zeal as they pursue further studies.
He reminded them of the importance of maintaining consistency, as it will be the key to their continued progress and accomplishments. Further, he encouraged them not to forget their roots and to exemplify traits of humility, simplicity, and trustworthiness as they strive to progress further.
He also lauded LMRPO for organising the event, which brought everyone under one roof to celebrate the success of the five achievers.
Earlier in the programme, a short welcome address was delivered by N John Murry, president of LMRPO, where he congratulated all the successful candidates and commended them for their dedication and hard work that brought laurels to their community.
Thechamo Ovung, president of the Lotha Middle Range Village Council Chairman Union, Y James Kikon, chairman of Baghty town, and Rhonbemo Murry, vice president of the Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union and president of the Baghty Students’ Union, also spoke on the occasion.
Renphamo Kikon, former additional director of Agriculture and advisor to LMRPO, delivered a word of appreciation to the meritorious candidates, in which he encouraged the students and members present to continue bringing laurels to the community through academic achievements and various fields.
