DIMAPUR — The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) state executive members have resolved to support the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate for the upcoming bye-election to the 43 Tapi Assembly Constituency, “to strengthen the oppositionless government”.
As it has been recognised as a political party in the state of Nagaland, the LJP (RV) resolved to establish a permanent office in the state and has entrusted party functionaries and its two MLAs to take up the matter with the government.
The party updated in a press release that its state executive members also resolved to urge the Election Commission of India to either postpone or advance the date of counting for the Tapi bye-election as December 3 falls on a Sunday.
It further thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for ‘taking its two MLAs into confidence’ while requesting him to accommodate them with assignment ‘so as to strengthen the oppositionless government’.
It also lauded the government for bringing peace and harmony to the state and actively facilitating the peace process with the government of India and the negotiating parties.
