Livingstone Foundation International College Dimapur conducts faculty development programme
Dimapur, Oct. 16 (EMN): Livingstone Foundation International College, Dimapur on Saturday conducted a faculty development programme on “Challenges of teachers in higher education” with Rev. Fr. Dr. C P Anto as the resource person.
An update from the college informed that the programme was organised by IQAC committee.
The resource person spoke on the role of teachers in nurturing the students; to mould and shape them to strive towards effective leadership-skilled youths and responsible citizens.
He urged the teachers to uphold the institute with vision, mission, values, attitudes, principles, knowledge and skills, and not just stick to conventional teaching. He also stressed on the need to adopt a non conventional teaching to equip students and youth to stand on their own feet.
Maintaining that teaching should be aimed at enhancing personal and interpersonal skills, he said values and principles must not be compromised in order to impart quality education and equip students to compete at international level.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Tianla Mar, Assistant Professor in department of Education; invocation by Medozanuo Chaplin, vote of thanks by Achilo Kikon, Assistant Professor in dept of Political Science; and benediction by Viphiranuo Seyie, Assistant professor in dept of English.
