DIMAPUR — The 21st livestock census 2024 for Kohima district was launched on Friday at the chief veterinary officer’s (CVO) conference hall in Kohima.
The livestock census was officially launched by Dr. Wopanthung Ezung, CVO of Kohima, in the presence of the department officials and census personnel.
The livestock census 2024 is aimed at enhancing livestock management in the state and the district in particular. The census, which is conducted every five years to collect vital data on various livestock, would involve trained supervisors and enumerators visiting every household in the district.
Dr. Ketholenuo Metha, district nodal officer (DNO), chaired the launch programme and concluded with the distribution of census logistics to the census personnel.
The census process would continue over the next few months with strong community engagement.
