- DIMAPUR — Commemorating Fire Service Week
2025, a live fire safety demonstration was conducted on the fourth day in
Kiphire town at Deluxe Point on Thursday.
- Speaking on the occasion, the officer in-charge of Fire and
Emergency Services, Kiphire, Tsarose Sangtam, emphasised the importance of mass
awareness on fire safety, particularly focusing on kitchen and electrical
fires. He urged the public to install fire safety equipments in their homes,
offices and shops, stated a DIPR report.
- Sangtam also highlighted that a survey in 2022 revealed a
lack of fire safety installation in government offices, hospitals, schools,
churches, commercial places and private residences in Kiphire town. He
mentioned about the upcoming implementation of the Nagaland Fire and Emergency
Service Act and urged the public to prioritise fire safety to create a healthy
and fire safety environment.
- The live demonstrations showcased fire-handling techniques
and training session for participants on the use of fire extinguishers, aiming
to sensitise the community about fire safety measures.
