Little Flower HSS conducts 15-day Swacchta Pakhwada

Kohima, Aug. 16 (EMN): The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Little Flower Higher Secondary School Kohima, observed ‘Swacchta Pakhwada,’ a cleanliness initiative from August 1 to the 15th.
Guided by Lucy Gangmei, principal of the school, NSS program officer Narotola Imchen and assistant program officer Kevifeno Kire, the NSS volunteers actively participated in various activities such as cleanliness drive at school premises, kitchen garden, house surrounding, locality, etc. during the 15-day cleanliness programme.
It was informed that a short video clip was also made by the students on proper hand washing and sanitisation of hands.
The students also participated in different activities such as poster making, painting, slogan writing, donation of dustbins, plantation, proper disposal of waste while spreading the message of Swachhta in the community.
The representatives of NSS from the school took the ‘Swachhta Shapath,’ through which a solemn vow was made by the volunteers to devote 100 hours per year to involve themselves in voluntary work for cleanliness.
It was informed that proper SOP was maintained while taking the oath.
Meanwhile, the principal had declared the school, ‘Clean Institution’ on August 15 and a webinar was also conducted to enlighten the students on Swacchta Pakhwada.
