Dimapur, Dec. 27 (EMN): The 5-day Lingrijan Night Carnival organized by the Lingrijan Village Council (LVC) culminated on December 23th with Bendangwati Ao, O.C. East Police station, Dimapur as the guest of honour.
Addressing the crowd at the closing programme, Bendangwati lauded the Lingrijan council for sacrificing and taking good initiative in organizing such fun carnival to let the people come out and have a good time during the festive season. He also congratulated the Lingrijan council on completing the repairing works of Lingrijan road which has been neglected for years. Bendangwati also donated Rs. 20,000 towards the construction of Lingrijan road. Further, the guest of honour also lit the bon fire as a sign of peace and harmony.
N. Meren Imchen, chairman Lingrijan Village Council (LVC) in his short speech said it was a proud moment for the council and the residence of Lingrijan village since the colony night carnival was organized on the newly constructed road. He said, the residents of Lengrijan had longed for good roads within its locality for a long time and its wishes has came true because of the joint effort made by the village council and the residence in terms of monetary donations and quality work for the construction of the said road. He further urged all the colony residents to always live in co-operation and harmony.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Alitemsu Jamir (covenor NC committee), invocation was said by I. Onen (GB LVC), special number by Imnatula Kichu and benediction by N. Wati Lkr (Head GB LVC).
It may be mentioned here that there were about 75 stalls set up for the Lingrijan Night Carnival, wherein food stalls, fun games and entertainment was the main attraction.
