Liezietsu inaugurates another indoor stadium in Kohima

Kohima, Oct. 25 (EMN): Phuchatsumia Khel (P Khel) Indoor Stadium was inaugurated by MLA Khriehu Liezietsu at Theoleibozou in Kohima village on October 25.

With the new indoor stadium at P Khel, Kohima village has now three indoor stadiums – one each at L Khel and T Khel, while another indoor stadium is coming up at D Khel.

It may be mentioned that all the three indoor stadiums and the new one, which is under construction at D Khel, were initiated by Liezietsu.

Speaking at the event, Liezietsu said that it was an auspicious occasion for P Khel community in particular and Kohima village in general as it was their dream to have a new indoor stadium. He also lauded the department of Youth Resources and Sports and it’s engineering wings, P Khel youth and all the individuals involved in constructing the facility.

Liezietsu also acknowledged Viravolie Rame and Christ King Higher Secondary School for donating the land to make the project a reality. He expressed hope that through the new stadium, many notable sportsmen and women from P Khel will rise and bring laurels to the community and the village in general.

He appealed the players to utilise the facility wisely and reminded the players to choose a discipline according to their potential and talents so that they can emerge as a better player in their respective sports as per their ability. He asked sportspersons to take care of their food and drinking habits, and emphasised on taking basic training while urging them to be disciplined besides complying with rules and regulations.

Liezietsu informed that the floor of the stadium will be laid with synthetic mat soon. He also declared the P Khel Indoor Meet 2019 open at the venue.

Nimo Kath, executive engineer PWD (H), Youth Resources and Sports Div., Kohima said that the construction of Indoor Stadium at Yakouzou under State Plan 2016-2017 started with a total amount of INR. 150 lakh. He added the work was awarded to M/S Neiziengulie Rame, Regd. No.NPWD/CL-I/595, dated 5th April 2017, and that the scope of work include two badminton courts and composite wall. The project was conceived with an aim to provide a standard indoor stadium where youngsters can be trained and nurtured besides hosting important tournaments.

Kath stated that the project has been completed under the leadership of Zale Neihu, advisor, YR&S, MLA Khriehu Liezietsu and active support of P Khel Youth Organisation and officials from Youth Resources and Sports department and contractors.
