DIMAPUR — Two students of Livingstone Foundation International namely Ayush Gupta of Grade-VII and Parthiv Deb of Grade-IX were granted the Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana (DDSY) philately scholarship by the department of Posts, Government of India.
An update from the institute informed that they were handed over the scholarships by L Imtikumzuk, marketing executive of Postal department, Nagaland division, during the school morning assembly on Friday in presence of their parents, students and mentors.
The two students were selected through a selection process for the scholarship scheme which included two levels including philately written quiz and philately projects, which were submitted by them to the Directorate of Posts.
It mentioned that the philately written quiz was conducted at the LFI campus on September 30, 2023, wherein more than 100 students had participated.
It stated that the department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, had launched the philately scholarship scheme named as Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana (scholarship for promotion of aptitude and research in stamps as a hobby) on November 3, 2017, for generating interest regarding philately among the students.
