LFI hosts seminar on shaping futures the STEM way

DIMAPUR — A seminar-cum-interaction programme titled ‘Empowering minds, shaping futures: the STEM way’ was hosted by Livingstone Foundation International (LFI), Dimapur on November 13.

The event, which was conducted at the LFI auditorium, mainly aimed at promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education, underscoring its importance in equipping students with the skills needed for a technology-driven future.

Students and teachers from several CBSE schools from Dimapur and adjoining areas participated in the programme, stated an update from LFI information desk.

The main resource person on the occasion was Prof. Shalabh, dean of academic affairs at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. Joining him in the programme were Ajay Sethi, managing director and and Rishabh Sethi, CEO of Nationalist Institute of Technology and Innovation (NITI), Dimapur.

NITI played an elemental role in conducting and sponsoring the programme.

During his discourse, Prof. Shalabh shared valuable insights on the pivotal role of STEM education in shaping future innovators and problem-solvers.

The session also included an interactive segment, allowing students and educators to engage directly with Prof. Shalabh and gain practical perspectives on how STEM can be a transformative force in education. He also shared details about IITs in India with particular emphasis on IIT Kanpur as an elite institute providing state-of-the-art educational facilities for students aiming for higher education in diverse career prospects.

“An important aspect of the programme was the announcement of special educational and career guidance programmes for NEET or JEE aspirants and scholarships for meritorious students of Nagaland by NITI,” the update stated.
